Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Administration, Observer, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering/construction, with a focus on overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with specifications, and maintaining quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site observations and inspections of mechanical and electrical installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
- Review and assess contractor submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs (Requests for Information) related to mechanical and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address any quality control issues or discrepancies.
- Develop and implement quality assurance/quality control plans to monitor construction processes and materials.
- Perform regular site visits and prepare detailed reports documenting observations, findings, and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on quality-related matters.
- Assist in the development of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations as needed.
- Ensure that all safety protocols and regulations are followed on-site.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and compliance activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field, is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in construction administration, quality assurance, or quality control, preferably in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, codes, and standards related to mechanical and electrical engineering.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Quality Assurance/Quality Control certification) are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
